With the events that has taken place in One Piece lately( for those reading the manga it was quite some time ago for those watching the anime it was just recently.) 5g5b5v

From any medium (book, movies, music, TV shows, manga, anime, comics)
What are the deaths that moved you, got a reaction out of you or made you swell up.

For me they are: all of these were emotional death (maybe not too much the DBGT) especially the Zetman one really almost made me cry you almost forget you are reading a fictional piece of work.

Nicholas D. Wolfwood

  • Trigun

Madoka Siblings

  • Gilgamesh

Gorou Kanzaki

  • Zetman

Lelouch Vi. Britannia

  • Code Gease

Brandon Heat

  • Gungrave

Hiroshi Yoshikawa

  • Domu: A Child's Dream

Little Yo

  • Domu: A Child's Dream

Pain

  • Naruto - There was no on in this show who's death saddened than his.

Portgas D. Ace

  • One Piece

Andriod 18

  • DBGT - nothing special i just liked how much she struggled to save her family the best moment in the whole crappy show.

Even in a Show, book or Movie where death is a daily occurrence there is always that one death that hits you. Always that character that makes you go NOOOOOO!! anyone but him/her!

What are yours?

in a book? i was really bummed out when Remus Lupin, Tonks, and Fred Weasley (seriously right when percy comes back into the family they lose another!) died in harry potter lol.

in a show? hmm let me see, i guess the American TV show "Lost", i was pretty bummed when Charlie died.

in a movie? The Movie adaption of Nicholas Spark's " A Walk To " . And boy was i frustrated when Mandy Moore died lol.

and manga? i guess when Kakashi died in Naruto, but they brought him back so all was forgiven lol.

I never really got "hit" by a death in a fictional setting, but i do feel some emotion when certain characters are killed off, but maybe not as much you o.o

Komojima - Tokyo Crazy Paradise
Whitebeard - One Piece
Kenny - South Park
King Kong - King Kong
Sméagol/Gollum Lord of the Rings

none of this were emotional except maybe komojima or king kong (peter Jackson). but all were unique characters (except Kenny)that i'd have love to see survive and though i do understand why they died; I still would have preferred to see them live.

i have quite a few but my memory's bad, so the one's i right now:

-Buffy:

when her mom died i cried through the whole episode. like seriously 30 minutes worth of crying. it was a great episode .

-Complex:

the ending, when the main characters die, is really sad. we follow these characters through basically their whole lives, so of course its going to be emotional when they die

-Skins:

when Chris dies at the end of the second series. i was re-watching it recently, and was crying like three episodes before he dies just because i knew it was coming

-Lovers & Souls: i had read the sequels to this before reading it. and even though i knew what was going to happen, i was still emotional.

Okkk guys let's follow OP's example and use spoiler tags please?!

Personally I get emotional when people die in pretty much anything. Like, if someone dies in a film I'm watching at the cinema, I have to furiously blink back the tears because I don't want to cry in public 🤣

Code Geass:

Lelouch, and to a lesser extent Rolo and Shirley.

7 Seeds:

Fubuki, Mitsuru, and - damn, I can't their names but there was a boy and a girl from Team Summer A who got crushed in some sort of cave-in during the test, and they pretended to be fine while sending morse code mirror messages to Koruri so she could hang-glide to safety. That was really tragic.

Grave of the Fireflies:

Setsuko, mostly. MY CREYS. I cried for so, so long.

And two which, while they upset me a lot, also really really annoyed me because often when I really really like a character and actually majorly ship them with the protagonist (which is rare for me), that character, who is like the best thing about the whole series, always gets killed off just as the protagonist starts a relationship with them or falls in love with them or whatever - I guess because they're usually characters with dubious morals or that other characters don't like or approve of:
Saiunkoku Monogatari

Sa Sakujun. He was such an amazing character and the method of his death was really tragic. It's also annoying that his death was not quite confirmed because he disappeared and nobody found his corpse. Is he dead or not?! The anime never answers that firmly I think.

Tenshi no Uta

Narasaki On. Ugghhhhhhhh once again my favourite character, and in this case his death seemed stupid and really quite pointless. I really cried when he died. I felt like he just got killed off so that Mayu could go have a relationship with Yuya. And although I shipped Yuya and Mayu at the start, as soon as On turned up... His relationship with Mayu was really... gah /eternal creys

Outside of anime and manga:
Black Magician Trilogy by Trudi Canavan:

Lorlen and Akkarin. There's still a lot of heated debate in the fandom and many people think Akkarin's death was stupid but even though it felt like a small part of my heart died at the time, I wouldn't change the ending at all.

i don;t think i'm that emotional I've never cried over anything but it does get depressing knowing that you will not see that character again especially if you liked them.

Oh god, this one too. And

Delacroix's death (that horrible slow electrocution because the sponge was dry, and he catches on fire and stuff)

was absolutely horrifying.

^ Urgh. Should have shot him in the head instead. That was one hell of a torture (and excruciating to watch).

Yes! That movie... was horrible and wonderful all at the same time.
Anyways.

John Keats - Bright Star
Kartick - The Sweet Far Thing
Lennie Small - Of Mice and Men
Marcel - La Vie en Rose
Everyone - The Book Thief
Alex - The Blind Assassin this one really depressed me for days
Icarus - "Daedelus and Icarus" Metamorpheses
The Wife - Up I tear up everytime I see him coming home from the funeral alone
Edward Bloom - Big Fish
Lelouch - Code Geass
Sue's sister - Glee
Denny - Grey's Anatomy
.... can't think of anymore, though I'm sure there's more because I cry at least once a week, usually over a fictional character

In of a manga death the one that sticks out the most is One Piece's

Portgas D. Ace

Gosh, the first time I read it tears were just pouring down my face, and the next 10 times I reread it I still cried. Now, when I read it, my eyes just burn a bit, I sniffle, and a tear falls.

I can't think of any deaths from other works that made me cry as of now.
Aforementioned death definitely evoked the strongest emotion though.

How could i forget that. that was pretty depressing, but as a movie it was brilliant.
