Personally, I'd rather see Byukuya go to the final stage of his Bankai against Ulq.

Yeah, Yammy's not dead. No one in Bleach is going to die by falling down a hole, especially an Espada who hasn't shown his released form yet.

Inoue's power of rejection + ichigos skill at fighting

Every time Ichigo has sustained a major injury she cant reject the reiatsu in the wound. All she can do is close it up. Stack Captains+Espadas reiatsus on top of each other again and again?

I think you're mixing up Hachigen's and Inoue's abilities there.
And if not: Has anybody mentioned that something like this was possible or likely before?
"Hey, slice me up! I wanna get more of your Reiatsu!"... errm, okay...

i really hope this is an epic battle. both ichig and ulquiorra can attack with full power with hopefully no interruptions (unless it's grimmjow). I want ichigo to win since he is the protagonist but i think ulquiorra's released form will outclass anything ichigo tries to thow at him. so while i want our hero to win, i think that deep down ulquiorra is going to facepalm ichigo.

i get the feeling that the next couple of chapters will focus on something else, possibly the top 3 espada battles.

hmmm...if Uloquiorra is a vasto lorde, then what is Nell? that she was formerly espada number 3. If we employ the "espada replacement" method, then that means Nell is, or used to be, stronger than Halibel? (i.e. after the #3 espada was injured the #4 espada takes her place and becomes #3) So does that suggest that Nell may be a vasto lorde as well?

And where has Nell gone in the manga? (haven't seen her for a while..)

Well, I'm not really sure if any Espada is actually a Vasto Lorde considering Nnoitras search before.
I wouldn't suspect anybody of being a VL until Kubo Tite gives us an actual example. Okay, the example we had looked a lot like Ulquiorra except for his slightly changed mask but I will wait until he actually says something like "This is how Vasto Lordes fight/release"

No, Nell probably isn't a Vasto Lorde. The Espada generation after her are much stronger. I mean, the Nr. 5 Noitorra (who wasn't even released) gave her much trouble.

well, I thought that noitorra and that #8 espada were the same generation espada as nell (except at that time they were of much lower level, which resulted in their collaboration to ambush her)

The reason noitorra gave nell trouble might be because nell hadn't fully recovered yet at the time, and/or noitorra trained and got stronger.

But even if what you said was true, it's weird that Aizen would make a adjuca the #3 espada, and then replace nell with a vasto lorde in the generation after her (he could have just made halibel #3 to begin with?)
