Voices was definitely sad. :/ Maybe the manga version isn't so much...? Is that the version you read/saw/partook in? I reading somewhere that it had an extended ending or something that kind of changes it.

It does not happen often, but it does happen. 🙂

My most recent experience was episode 42 of Space Brothers, Hibito's lone moon walk. The atmosphere, music, story build-up is very powerful.

I think I've only cried at Fruits Basket (the manga) and Vampire Knight (the anime). Fruits Basket 'cause of a couple characters' deaths, and Vampire Knight because I was so upset the she didn't end up with Zero at the end of the anime (I watched the anime before I knew about the manga). I usually try to avoid mangas/animes that have major sad parts or bittersweet endings, just because I am so sympathetic towards that characters, that I end up crying my eyes out for them <_< I definitely cry more at asian dramas than for mangas/animes.

Yes. Like other people have sad, not often but there are those really good ones that get you emotionally invested ten you end up bawling your eyes out. (angel beats, anohana, FMA, and others)

I'm a big crybaby. I cry a whole lot and sometimes judge a good series based on its tear-jearking factors.
First time I cried was probably for Ouke no Monshou. Yes, I ended up loathing the series when I was older (I was 8 at the time), but it was a pretty good moment to cry for. For anime, it was sometime in the middle of Air, not necessarily the ending, I was crying before that happened.

Yes, as a matter of fact I have. In Anime more than Manga though, seems like motion, voices, etc make it have a higher impact.
One Piece Anime with

Ace's Death, Sanji's Arc, Robin's Arc, yeah a lot.

Naruto Anime

Jiraya's Death

Gurren Lagan Anime

Pretty much ALL Deaths, Simon's GF which dissapears whom name I cannot recall. With this Anime I didn't shed a tear or two, I shed an ocean, seriously, my pillow was drenched.

I won't add Manga titles cause several have stolen one or two tears out of me and the list would be quite long.
The previous titles have caused me to cry out of sadness, comion or whatever but few have made me cry out of joy or extreme laughter like GTO, Wagatsuma-san, Kyou kara ore wa, Slam Dunk and several others.

I have yet to cry while reading a manga, anime's a different story. There have been multiple times where I've gotten teary but not actually cried. Also had countless occurences where I wanted to punch a wall. I think Gurren Lagann was the only anime that made me teary, want to punch a wall, and depressed (only time I was depressed over an anime).

Yes i was sad when Kamina died but what got to me was the ending. Ending was very predictable from the first few episodes but it still got me. :|
