Absolute Morality 3t3p6h
I know it's not exactly popular in the world anymore, what with everything being considered relativistic and opinionated, but I really do believe in an absolute moral law of the universe; there is right and there is wrong. A ton of manga tend to portray a story of acceptance and acclimation into a traditionally amoral alternative lifestyle, and I understand that it's usually done in the attempt to create a comedic atmosphere, but I tend to get angry rather than find it funny (tend to, not always; I have convictions, I'm not close minded. Usotsuki Lily is actually one of my favorite mangas for instance). 1s4ub
So, I'm looking for a comedy (hopefully, I will accept any and all other genres) where an absolute morality is portrayed and is treated as right. That doesn't mean I'm looking for a manga where alternative beliefs are persecuted, just that they're generally held to be inferior to the established morality.
Just to be clear though, there are a few things I don't want to see:
Intolerance towards LGBT people. I don't consider that to be immoral and I don't enjoy humor portraying it as such.
Intolerance towards either religion or atheism.
And that's about it; I appreciate any and all suggestions.

I think Fruits Basket kind of fits this. Death Note, InuYasha...
I've never really heard much about Fruits Basket, could you explain how it fits?
Also, could you do the same for Death Note? I'm wondering if we have the same understanding of my request.

I have a feeling that while suggesting Fruits Baskets, they were referring to the fact that throughout the story the main character is always fighting for the 'what's right' of things. I would agree that it fits your conditions, maybe not in the traditional sense but it does fit.
As for Death Note, I've never really read it, so I can't help answer that one.

I can't really think of anything... it'd be hard enough to find such in Western media, let alone Japanese... I can think of some just good clean comedies, like Angel Densetsu and Yotsubato, where the content is such that there's really no opportunity for it to lean either way.
Well Fruits Basket does sound close, and I've of course heard about it, so I think I'll check it out.
@jedinat, I know it's a hard request. As I said, it's a terribly unpopular viewpoint in the modern world, but there you have it.

Not sure if I completely understand, but I think Shin Angyo Onshi fits. The main character never compromises on his sense of justice. In contrast, the villain has duality, is gentle yet treacherous, and brainwashes his followers into believing that there is no good or evil.
Now, if what you're looking for a manga positively portraying a traditional lifestyle, "family values," etc., I suggest Samurai Usagi and Mademoiselle Butterfly.

If I am understanding you right, then I believe Superior would fit. Exa is very bent on his own ideas of justice but some people do find him annoying because of that.
I maybe understood wrong but I think you wanted something which is pretty much the opposite from what people are suggesting (at least the ones I know, like Death Note), lol.
Do you want a story where the main character do the honest/right thing and he/she is rewarded in the end and everything is told by his/her point of view which presents him/her in a righteous way?
If the answer is yes, the first thing I thought is Les Miserables by Hugo (so if you want to read it even if it's a novel, try it) where the plot is driven by
Jean Valjean doing the right thing and confessing a crime, which in the end triggers a series of events which will ultimately lead him and Cosette to be happy.
If you want a manga the closest thing would be Happy! if it will have a good end (I still don't know it's half published in my country).

The Twelve Kingdoms might interest you, it's a novel or an anime though.
High Fantasy, everything is determined by the gods and is unquestioned by its citizens (choosing the king of a country, giving birth to children, ...)

Yes, perfect, focus on that. The main character IS right and is portrayed as being such absolutely. They shouldn't have to feel ashamed or worried about how others might view them, because they are certain of their righteousness, and that certainty is vindicated in the end. They aren't convinced otherwise throughout the story, they aren't brought around to see the merit of an alternate view so that by the end of the story we're left with this relativistic gray area about the whole thing.
@0sirt, while I have watched and loved The Twelve Kingdoms, and the absolute moral reality is sort of what I'm looking for, the main character doesn't meet me specifications. She isn't fighting that sort of moral steadfast battle I'm looking for, and she is brought around to view the world in a different way throughout the story.

M.C. Law might work: the protagonist here is an obstinate attorney bringing perpetrators to justice by every means possible.
