I didn't really know how to summarize it in the topic title, but basically I'm looking for a story like the oneshot Henshin Ganbo. Basically a guy likes a girl, gets told by girl's friend that he needs to better himself to be with her and then realizes he actually loves the girl's friend eventually. 3w666z
I think this was also the basic plot to GE-Good Ending as well

Eh, but in that one shot
The girl he had a crush on at first was a complete bitch. Having her friend reject him for her.
And in Good Ending
while he did have a crush on Sho, it was about him falling for Yuki. Hell even towards the end, him and Sho do get together for a bit. Though he ended it because he was in love with Yuki still. Though it seems like at the end after the time skip, Sho tells him that she will always cherish the time she spent with him. Worst part of that was Sho ending up with her cheating idiot of a boyfriend.

I see your point, but I was just trying to give examples that were kind of like the scenario I was describing. I don't even know how I'd really search for this.
Really any similar situation would be interesting to read about, if anyone knows of a story that seems to fit this mold.

I disagree on Molester Man
Even though he liked Miss Understanding at first, she wasn't the female lead. It was Kansai. He had to get into that altercation with MU to meet Kansai. It's sorta like Good Ending. Sho was just a plot device to move the story along so he would meet Yuki and fall for her.
Onani Master Kurosawa was just crap after the plot twist.
Even though he had the best chemistry with the girl he loses to that annoying afro guy, I assumed he would get together with the glasses girl since he had a connection to her. Him ending up with bully girl was out of nowhere and kinda stupid.
