I'm running our of manga to read. I've mostly only read shoujo butsinze I've almost exhausted that category, I wouldn't mind reading shounen. I like unique plots with strong heroines/heros. I also like things that fall in the suspense/mystery genre but please not too much horror. I also like manga that will involve overcoming an obstacle. Here's some of my favorite stuff from both categories 604519

Basara
Fruits Basket
Ouran High School Host Club
Shounen:
Slam Dunk
Death Note
Rurouni Kenshin
(As you can see, I haven't read half as much shounen)

Well, I can't help at all with shoujo as I actively avoid it, but I could at least give you some general shounen suggestions. Kinda hard to suggest anything when you leave it so vague as to what you're looking for, but I've been enjoying these series so far:
Claymore - my favorite shounen.
Superior - vaguely shoujo feel to it
Code:Breaker - reminiscent of Death Note.
Bleach
Immortal Regis

Dean Wonderland
