I'm poor so I buy my manga when I can (anime is too expensive XP) but I mostly read/watch it online since the US is slow coming out with these things <(TT.TT)> I think the best place to buy it is at the used book stores (I get some series for half off there XD)

I mainly buy manga that I really like and would reread, or if it's not being scanlated. So far, I have about 150 volumes.

I don't have a lot. Just about 10-15 volumes, but I plan on getting more now that I have a job.

If you want to buy manga just do it at conventions. Often you can get 30% off or more if you go on the last day of the con to the dealer rooms. I picked up 8 Volumes of Berserk for 80 bucks, $32 less than list price. some other places sell the popular series for as little as $5 a volume.

I usually only buy manga if a series isn't completely scanlated. I used to buy all of what I read, but that isn't so good on my wallet.

I used to buy manga, but I stopped about 10 years ago because it became prohibitively expensive. Nowadays I just and read on my computer.
I have no space to store all the manga I want to read, so no point in paying for a book I'll have to give away anyway. Heck I'm still trying to sell all the comic books I bought when I was a teenager.
It's more convenient to and read on my computer. Sure, I miss the experience of actually having the book in my hands, but see my point above. It's just too difficult and expensive to store thousands of books in a safe, dry place.
I prefer scanlations to official US releases, because scanlations are never (or rarely) page flipped. Also, it seems like scanlators try harder to accommodate the wishes of readers. For example consider the sound effects issue.
I could go on, but that's pretty much how I see it.
Uh, lesse, I buy manga that they don't have online like Enchanter and Tail of the Moon. My friend buys all of the ones she reads though. Cuz she's friggen rich -_-. . But most of the time I just read 'em at the bookstore 😀
