Well. I know there are already a lot of topics like this... But I can't really find what I want so I made my own. 5x3669
I want something like Akuma to Love Song or something like Emma or Solanin. Not really the setting.. But something like the deepness or something.
I would like it if it's set in High School. But it doesn't really matter. I just don't like really shallow shoujo 🤢 (spare me) The art has to be good. I just want.. really good romance manga. 🙂
No fantasy.. supernatural or gender benders.. I hate gender benders.. (not all but generally) I want the slice of life type.. 🙂
I've tried Skip beat and Bitter Virgin
HATED IT. BV was so dramatic and I hated the art..

Hrm... If you don't mind shonen-ai, there's Kaze to Ki no Uta. It's a classic, and for good reason. It is rather dramatic, though, which you said you don't like.
Cipher is one of my favorites. It has high-school age characters, the art is great, it's not overly dramatic, and it's not shallow. It's not particularly deep, though.
I think the best one for you I've come across would be Honey and Clover, although it's set in a college instead of a high school. It's got that lovely slice-of-life feel, the romance is sweet but not overstated, and it is rather deep at times. The art is scratchy, but I think it grows on you.

Hana Yori Dango. It's a classic in the romance genre. The art gets better as the story progresses.

I've finished Hana dan, Bus Hashiru, Gokinjo Monogatari, Mars and Kare kano from the ones mentioned.
I've also read the following in the past
Ciguatera - can't say I like it too much. Prolly cause I'm a girl.
Sing Yesterday for Me - was a bit boring. It's okay.
Honey and Clover - I don't know why but it doesn't appeal to me AT ALL.
The rest I will look at it.. Thanks again. I'd like more suggestions please. 😃

The title is really misleading. Maybe you should state the unique characteristics you are looking for. Also deepness is not the equivalent of uniqueness.
I personally wouldn't even call Solanin or Akuma to Love Song unique.
I would suggest Zig Zag Don anyway. I think it would appeal to those who like Nana.
Maybe something like Fujoshi Kanojo can be called unique because the male and female leads are indeed different (no matter you like it or not).

^ well basically I'm looking for romance. Something that is not the usual cliche plot blah blah. So I thought, hmm "Unique romance"!. The topic is fit for me. s:
I've read Resssentiment before... And.. It's okay. Won't be picking it up again tho.
I've finished Diamond Head, Atsui Hibi, Sukima Shiki.... and I've read Goodnight Punpun until the latest scan.. I must say.. very weird. 😢 But it's okay.

Cat Street - I thought it was pretty deep. The art is pretty good it has a good flow of actual plot/character development and romance.
And the romance is definitely... there.. plus it's complete.
And if you don't mind the change in art style, I definitely recommend Korean manhwa. There are some cliche plots but since the main heroines react pretty differently than their Japanese counterparts it's not all that bad.

I WISH... (similar to xxxholic but with actual romance though you might not like the art but it's good)
