Out of Japan is the news that the government wants to stop unauthorized Manga and Anime ers, including blocking the 3 main websites that are causing the most damage.
But they won't name them and i'm not sure it's possible to block effectively in today's world. 😕

That's because they probably don't know what those three sites are. They are going to set up a council which will make that determination. But before that, they will set up a committee to determine what exactly the council will be authorized to do. But before that, they will hold consultations with various industry and other interest groups to determine who should be on the committee. And before that...
In short, it's going to take a while, so I wouldn't' worry about right now.
Someone get´s busted for ing manga or anime once a month or more in Japan. Just follow ANN´s "news" ticker for a bit. The one part of that sire i regularly use.
Jump and other big publishers also got together to actively combat piracy about 2 or so years ago and nothing happened. Nothing will happen here too. Some site may go down and get a clone within a week at the very most. So business as usual. Tilting at [digital] windmills is useless.
I also read EU/US comics and am a librarian.
