I have finally finished this. This is a manga that gets better and better as it goes on. It's certainly not for everyone, but give it a try or two--I gave it a second chance (hated it on my first attempt, but it somehow stayed at the back of my mind) and to date, I can say this is one of the best manga I have ever read. 48622e

A collection of quirky, moving, and somewhat perverse stories. I've read a number of Furuya's works and I must say I like his drawings here; they are a lot better than in his other works.
On my first attempt, I stopped reading after the first few chapters and promptly forgot about it. After re-discovering it, I finished it in 2 sittings. Both the writer and artist are very creative; you can tell that they've put in quite a bit of effort into deg the looks of the characters, be it costumes, weapons, or fighting styles etc (the artist is evidently heavily inspired by King of Fighters--main character looks like K'.) Art is pretty good; one can easily tell that many of the designs were KoF-inspired. Story-wise, it's like reading the prequel to some series...when you realise that's all there is to it, you feel nothing short of cheated.
I may have to re-read this, as I barely understood anything the first time. Still, it's interesting--in the same way that having your brains eaten by zombies might be interesting.
